Will RadioTraffic work on a Mac or OSX machine?

RadioTraffic only runs on Windows, and is optimized for Windows 10 (also supports Windows 7, 8, and 8.1).

If your Mac has an Intel-based processor, you can configure it to run Windows side-by-side with OSX to run RadioTraffic using the following third-party products:

Although we can't support these products directly, we have many customers using these to run our software on Macs. We support RadioTraffic under the Windows portion of the operating system. For more information regarding these third-party products, please visit their respective websites.

Do you recommend using a Mac for RadioTraffic?

No, not for full-time traffic manager use. For a full-time traffic manager role, we recommend a Windows 64 bit machine with multi-core processor such as quad core or higher running Windows 10.

If traffic is only a small percentage of your use and most of your other use demands a Mac, then RadioTraffic can work with Windows on a Mac using a third-party application such as BootCamp, Parallels, or VMware Fusion. For example, for sales or management to simply run a report now and then and they already have a Mac, RadioTraffic can be made to run on it.

Do you support RT if I'm running it on a Mac?

If a question or problem comes up on a Mac running RT, our support will ask you to troubleshoot the same operation on a PC. If it works there, our support ends. If the function in question does not work on a PC, we will fix it so everything works correctly on the PC.

We do not help with installing BootCamp, Parallels, VMware Fusion, or other third-party solutions that enable a Mac to run Windows.

RT runs on Windows, optimized for Windows 10 (also works with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1), with no plans to develop RT for OSX at this time.

Is there any way(s) of running RT on my non-Windows machine?

Other solutions still require a copy of Windows (a requirement of RT regardless of "alternate" solutions); however, there are plenty of ways to "run" RT "on" a non-Windows device. Those basically fall into two categories:

  • Have a machine somewhere running Windows that can be connected to using one of many available "remote desktop" software solutions. We can support the Windows computer, but we cannot support/troubleshoot connectivity and/or operation of the "remote desktop" software.
  • Using virtualizing / emulation software to run a copy of Windows within your machine such as Oracle VM VirtualBox. Note that RT will not assist in the configuration/troubleshooting of these tools/environments; we can only answer questions regarding the usage of RT and will only troubleshoot problems first and foremost using Windows as the primary operating environment.
