Report Templates
You can customize an existing report and save it as a template to standardize the report to ensure that you deliver consistent roll-up reporting to sales and management. Report templates are saved system-wide, and every user with permissions to run reports can use them.
Why create templates for reports?
- Provide a means to enforce consistency in the reports provided to other people, as opposed to internal reports.
- Minimize human error related to getting reports from multiple markets.
- Enables upper management to roll-up reports from multiple markets into one, consistent report for review.
Creating a Report Template
- From the RT dashboard, open the [Reports] module.
- Using the advance filters available through [MyViews], manipulate your data until you achieve the desired result, including the Group By box, column chooser, sorting and deleting columns.
- Navigate to the File drop-down menu and select Create Template. Name and describe your report.
- Press F5 on your keyboard or navigate to the View drop-down menu and select Refresh. Your new report is available to use.
Editing a Report Template
- Within your custom report template, select the File drop-down menu and point to Switch to Original. This will transform the original RT report to reflect the customization you have made to the template for additional editing and manipulation.
- Once you have completed your changes, navigate to the Tools drop-down menu and select the Create Template tool.
- Navigate to the File drop-down menu and select Create Template. Name and describe your new report template.
