Introduction

RadioTraffic converts to a specific Smartscaster log format.

Station Configuration

To configure RadioTraffic to work with Smartscaster, you will first need modify the station configuration to utilize Smartscaster as the automation system. In the administration module, open 'Stations'. Select the station you want to configure and double click. Once the station configuration is visible, select the 'Files' tab. Select the 'Product' to Smartscaster using the drop down selection tool. The 'Automation Log Path' is where RadioTraffic will export the log to, so set this to the file system folder that Smartscaster will pull the file from.

Cart Numbers

Smartscaster system can use cart number from up to 5 digit cart numbers.

Automation Commands

RadioTraffic exports the cart number portion of automation commands.

Log Notes

Due to limitations in Smartscaster, log notes do not export.

Programs

Due to limitations in Smartscaster, log notes do not export.

Breaks

Although breaks do not export per se, the export process will leverage the breaks to determine which Smartscaster "break" is scheduled. Smartscaster only supports 12 breaks per hour; thus RT will only export up to the first 12 breaks per hour. Additionally, each break can have no more than 10 items per break; any additional items are not exported.

With that said, the log export will merge any breaks that are, based on scheduled time and length, back-to-back. This allows for full flexibility in scheduling withing RT; balanced with the significant limitations of the automation interface.

Furthermore, once all breaks have been merged in order to fit within the limitations of Smartscaster; any "breaks" that are empty will be modified so that the first item is a 99999 cart number (SKIP).

Automatic Log Reconciliation

We also support automatic log reconciliation for the Smartscaster as-aired logs. To configure this feature, you need to determine where these files are located on your network and use that path to configure the "Aired Log Path".

Note that you will need to reconcile your logs daily as Smartscaster only stores the last seven days worth of as-play information across seven files representing each day.
