RadioTraffic.com 101 - Templates
<DIV id="Text"> ==RadioTraffic.com 101== [101|back] ===Templates (Formats)=== Please provide us with any documentation regarding your [Stations] [Templates] so that we can better assist you in configuring your [Logs]. To assist you in this process, please utilize the clocks file to help define your [Templates]. The following instructions are assuming you are using Microsoft Excel; however, any editor can be used as long as the integrity of the comma-separated values list is maintained. {s:slPlayerBegin}101_clocks_simple.wmv{s:slPlayerEnd} ====Structure==== The first line of the file contains the column headers. (Note: Do not modify this line.) Starting with line two, you can add entries as needed. Each line represents an individual elements of the [Template]. Some columns are required while others are optional. By default, the second line contains an example line, this line should be removed after this tutorial. Note: There are two files attached to this tutorial. The difference between the two is that the simple version contains less of the optional columns while the advanced one contains all of the optional columns. ====Required Columns==== The following columns are required: * '''Time'''{br}The time that this "event" will begin. The time needs to be in HH:MM:SS format using a 24 hour clock between 00:00:00 and 23:59:59. * '''Length'''{br}The length of this "event". The length needs to be in MM:SS format. ====Optional Columns==== The following columns are optional; however, the more information that is available, the better we can assist you: * '''Unit'''{br}The total number of units allowed for this "event". If the event is a "Avail", define how many units are allowed in the avail. If blank (or column not available), defaults to number of 30 second units based on length entered. * '''Type'''{br}What type of event is this entry. If blank (or column not available), the event is considered a "Avail". See below. * '''Description'''{br}The description column is optional, however, is highly recommended. How this column is utilized depends on the '''Type''' of event. See below. * '''Priority'''{br}(Advanced) If the event is an "Avail" ("Type" column), defines a priority between normal or 1 to 9. If blank (or column not available), defaults to normal. * '''Must Fill'''{br}(Advanced) If the event is an "Avail" ("Type" column), defines whether or not to [MustFill] and, if desired, use the value "Yes" (without quotations). If blank (or column not available), defaults to "No". * '''Command'''{br}(Advanced) If the event is an "Automation Command" ("Type" column), optionally contains the command portion of an automation command. Defaults to blank. * '''Cart #'''{br}(Advanced) If the event is an "Automation Command" ("Type" column), optionally contains the cart number that will be exported as part of an automation command. Defaults to blank. ====Type==== The Type column is a special column that only supports a specific set of values: * '''Avail (or ''Blank'')'''{br}Defines a block of time that commercials can be scheduled within. The Description column will be used to name this [AvailType]. * '''Automation Command'''{br}Optionally utilized to define a special action as necessary for an attached [AutomationSystem]. The Description column will be utilized to name the automation command. * '''Log Note'''{br}A non-event that is for informational purposes only. The Description will be used to name and print the log note on the resulting [Log]. * '''Program'''{br}A fixed scheduled "event". The Description will be used to name the event. Using anything other than the items in the above list will be considered a "Log Note" and other columns may be ignored. ====Downloads==== '''Clock (Simple)''' * [{UP}101_Clocks%2fClock_Simple.xls|Clock_Simple.xls] - Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Workbook. * [{UP}101_Clocks%2fClock_Simple.xlsx|Clock_Simple.xlsx] - Microsoft Office Excel Workbook. * [{UP}101_Clocks%2fClocks_Simple.csv|Clock-Simple.csv] - Comma separated. '''Clock (Advanced)''' * [{UP}101%2fClock_Advanced.xlsx|Clocks_Advanced.xlsx] - Microsoft Office Excel Workbook. * [{UP}101%2fClock_Advanced.xls|Clocks_Advanced.xls] - Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Workbook. * [{UP}101%2fClocks_Advanced.csv|Clocks_Advanced.csv] - Comma separated. ====Examples==== In the simple file, we've defined a single avail that occurs at midnight, has an [AvailType] of "Commercial" and can hold three minutes of spots. The simple file is intended to only be utilized if you simply need to define your avails (meaning you will not be defining any automation commands, log notes or programs at initial go-live). In the advanced file, we've defined the same avail that occurs at midnight, has an [AvailType] of "Commercial", can hold three minutes, is limited to a maximum of 6 units, has no defined priority and the command/cart # are not used since this is an avail. Once you have made your changes, be sure to save the file and send it to [support]. As soon as we receive this file, we utilize this to better assist you in configuring your [Templates]/[Formats] so you can progress on to the next step. </DIV>
