NOTE: First thing to look at is whether or not you are using Chrome (for example) and the security settings of Chrome preventing you from launching the setup.exe from within Chrome. You can either find the file using Windows Explorer and try launching it from there or utilize Microsoft Edge (or Microsoft Explorer) to start the installation.

This is something that isn't specific (most likely) to the product purchased from RadioTraffic.com. More likely that it is related to something specific about your machine configuration, products installed, Microsoft Windows settings, network settings, anti-virus software, etc. that is causing the issue and it is nearly impossible for us to diagnose every possible configuration that could exist. However, we have encountered this a time or two and this is a solution that seems to remedy the issue in every circumstance.

  • Please make sure that all other windows/software is currently closed (not minimized) before continuing with the following... we suggest that you start with a fresh reboot in order to accomplish this.
  • Please make sure that the application is not currently running. If not visible, you can use CTRL+ALT+DEL to view running processes looking for RadioTraffic.com as the process name. This needs to not be in the list for a successful uninstall/reinstall.
  • Please verify that you have successfully uninstalled any prior installation of the client software. To do this, go to Windows Control Panel->Programs->Programs and Features. Search through the list to verify that RadioTraffic has been removed. If found, please follow on screen instructions to Uninstall.
  • We will then manually clear the Windows application cache by deleting the folder that contains this information from your file system. The application cache is located at:

    %userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps

The simplest way to get to this folder location is to copy the above text (select with mouse and press the CTRL+C hotkey combination) and using the Windows+R hotkey combination to bring up the Windows Run window.

In this window, use the CTRL+V hotkey combination to past the text into the window. This will then launch Windows Exploring window navigated to this folder. You should see a 2.0 folder, right click on this folder and select the Delete menu item. You may encounter that some files cannot be deleted. If so, double click on the 2.0 folder and work to delete each subfolder manually until you've completely cleared out this folder.
  • We will then clear the Windows application cache using the Windows tool.

To do so, start the Windows Run dialog by pressing the Windows+R hotkey combination. In this dialog, type:

  • It may be necessary to disable your Antivirus utility; see below.
  • Start the installation process again for the product that you are licensed; Premier, Essentials, EXP, TrafficXP or Traffic1234.

CS - We utilize two different methods to clear the Windows application cache as we've encountered a small number of circumstances where utilizing just the official tool didn't seem to completely do the trick. It is entirely possible to skip the manual file deletion step; however, we've included it for completeness. If you'd like to save yourself a step, give it a shot. If you encounter that you are one of these small number of situations where it must be done, the instructions are available.
