Installation Troubleshooting

back

Edit

After initial installation, the software doesn't seem to want to start.

On some machine configurations, the application is (due to installation and administrator account) running "in the background". The simplest solution is to perform a shutdown and restart and lauch RT using the icon on the desktop.

Edit

I get a message stating that I can't install due to the missing the Microsoft .NET 4 components.

Image

These need to be downloaded directly from Microsoft. Please use the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer) or Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Standalone Installer) to do so. Once done, please retry the accepting of this agreement to begin the installation.

Edit

I get a message stating "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor.

See here.

Edit

I get an message stating that I'm running the wrong release/edition.

Image

We have two editions. The Public edition is the "Official" release and is updated about once per month. The Private edition is the "More-Often-Updated" release and is updated as much as multiple times per day. Your account is configured to only allow execution of one or the other. If you installed the incorrect edition, please uninstall it and then click here. Additionally, pressing the OK button on the message will launch your default web browser to the correct install location and launch the Windows Add/Remove Programs window to assist you in uninstalling the incorrectly installed edition.

Edit

I'm unable to get the .application link to work using (insert browser name here)...

Try installing using this setup.exe.

Edit

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is not allowing me to download/run the setup.exe.

The enhanced security mechanisms included in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 will, by default, prevent you from easily executing the setup.exe. In order to get the installation started, follow these steps:

1. Click on the setup.exe link to begin the process. A moment later, you should see a prompt near the bottom center of the browser similar to the following image.

2. Click on the "Run" button. A moment later, you should see another prompt similar to the following image.

3. Click on the "Actions" button. This will present a window similar to the following image.

4. Click on the "Run anyway" button to begin the actual installation. From here follow the on screen prompts accordingly to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 system components and the RadioTraffic.com client software.

If using Trusteer Rapport, be sure to get the latest release of their product. If you have the latest version, please consider uninstalling it to verify if it is causing problems; if it is causing problems, you'll need to contact Trusteer for additional support.

Edit

If still having problems...

Use the .NET Framework setup verification tool to verify that the .NET Framework is installed correctly. This .NET Framework setup verification tool is designed to automatically perform a set of steps to verify the installation state of one or more versions of the .NET Framework on a computer. It will verify the presence of files, directories, registry keys and values for the .NET Framework. It will also verify that applications that use the .NET Framework can be run correctly.

There are two ways to get this tool:

If the verification tool finds any issues, there is a .NET Framework Repair Tool that can be found at the following locations:
